Meet Dave
I want to personally thank you for taking the time to get to know me better before you sign up for G’Town Boot Camps.
I’m Dave Schmitz and I will be your G’Town Bootcamp instructor, coach and team motivator. I am a Licensed Physical Therapist, Certified Strength and Condition Specialist, and Performance Enhancement Specialist.
My real world job is to be the best father for my 3 awesome children (Kelsey, Carter, and Kenzie), the most supportive husband I can be for my incredible wife of 22 years Karen and to help as many people I can Make their best…. BETTER by motivating, educating, inspiring and challenging them to reach for more!!
There is no greater reward than knowing you were part of helping someone get back to doing what they love while getting them feeling, looking and performing better than they ever thought they could or would again.
Growing up on my parents farm in Central Wisconsin, hard work was a given. I spent many of days playing and living out my future path in life. I started my career as a physical therapist and athletic trainer 1986 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. After 11 years working in orthopedics physical therapy, in 1997, I decided to create Performax Performance Training to see if I could get people back super charged and performing at higher levels and not be held back by anything but my lack of knowledge or their effort. Both of which I knew I could change. My initial intent was to work with athletes, which was driven by my history of being a competitive athlete and my passion for working out. Yes I admit, I am and continue to be a workout nut. However I soon realized that love for performance wasn’t just intended for athletes and I started what was then known as Bands-Bells-Balls and Body Fitness Camp in 1999.
Little did I know what that would lead to in the very near future.
While working with a dozen loyal campers who are still with me today, I became very interested in the use of elastic training and how it could enhance all aspects of fitness and performance. Within a very short time, I had created an entire resistance band training system for fitness, performance and rehabilitation which turned into www.resistancebandtraining.com and has today become a nation and international place to come and learn how to truly get your body stronger and more reactive using Resistance Band Training (RBT) or as I like to say…..“training beyond the contraction”
From there bands balls and bells became known as the Fitness Band Bootcamp because the emphasis I placed RBT. It was the first every fitness bootcamp in Germantown and with the growth of RBT.com, it was also the only exclusive Resistance band training bootcamp in the country and from my knowledge still is today.
With my #1 Fan Karen at my side, and my children growing up fast it became increasing obvious that if I wanted to have my greatest impact on helping people it was going to come through fitness and not just Physical Therapy so I branched off on my own in 2008 and started building RBT.com, Reactive Rehabilitation Seminars, Fast and Fit Performance Training Camps & Clinics for young athletes and turned the Fitness Band Bootcamp into G’Town Boot Camps.
By creating all 4 of these options within Performax Performance Training, LLC, I could now fulfill what was something I started out doing as a little boy working out in the backyard of my parent’s farm. I could now…
…Make what ever it is you do well on the field or in life… BETTER!!
I know as you read this that none of this would have been possible without my belief in God, the support and love of my family, the constant encouragement of friends and the trust that literally 1000’s of clients, athletes, parents and patients have given me since 1986.
Every entrepreneur has a key person in life and business. For me that person is my wife Karen who is literally the heartbeat of my life and our family. Without her constant support, trust and encouragement Performax and all its entities would not exist.
I am truly blessed to be able to wake up each day and know that when I go to bed that night, I will have helped improve and inspire someone to get better on the field, at work, or at home by doing what I love to do on a daily bases.
God Bless and thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me
Getting Better Every Day,
